Jon Allen's sound is built on a foundation of Americana, Roots and Blues influences, with a soulful, whisky-soaked voice and a striking gift for melody. Allen's breakthrough came after he performed on BBC TV's Later with Jools Holland. Since then, he has toured extensively supporting an eclectic array of musical greats, from Emmylou Harris and Seal to Dionne Warrick, Mark Knopfler and Damien Rice, and has built up a loyal international following. Doing so, he's built a reputation as a captivating and hugely entertaining live act. Allen feels as comfortable as a solo artist, than as the frontman of The Luna Kings; a band made up of some of the country's best session musicians.
After Allen previously sold out our Upstairs flawlessly, the musician returns to Amsterdam on 7 May for a show at our OZ!
