All day and all night in the streets of Amsterdam and The Hague
Please note: this event has already taken place
As all art schools are closed for the time being, the degree shows of graduating students are subject to unforeseen changes on a national level: the exhibitions have either been postponed or are presented in intimate settings. In light of this, Nest and Melkweg Expo want to invite all graduating students from the class of 2020 (BA/MA Fine Art) at all the Dutch art schools to submit an image of their graduation work for a city-wide exhibition in the public space of The Hague and Amsterdam.
From July, poster billboards in The Hague and Amsterdam will be dedicated to these graduation works.
How it works:
Are you a graduate student attending a Fine Art course at an art school in The Netherlands?
This panel of arts professionals will review all submissions:
Lieneke Hulshof – editor-in-chief Mister Motley
Xander Karskens – director De Ateliers
Iris Kensmil – Visual Artist
Adam Nillissen – director Unfair Amsterdam
Benno Tempel – director Kunstmuseum Den Haag
Heske ten Cate – artistic director Nest Den Haag
Fleurie Kloostra – programmer Visual Arts of Melkweg Expo
This results in a shortlist of 20 submissions representing an impression of the graduations in 2020. The selected artists will receive exposure at 10 locations each, across Amsterdam and The Hague. (N.B. printing and distribution costs are covered by Nest, Melkweg Expo and Centercom).
The artists will receive additional exposure in the form of texts written about them and their exhibited work, published by Mister Motley magazine.
