Eefje de Visser releases an exceptional concert film on this day, in the weekend she normally would have performed with her band at Rock Werchter. Besides an (alternative) live show, the movie will also offer an exclusive glimpse into Eefje’s world, as it is filmed at De Robot Studios, a loft in Ghent, where she works, sleeps and lives. With the money that will be raised with this movie, Eefje aims to help her crew and musicians through the coronavirus crisis. The film can be seen online at 21:00 hr and at a selection of Dutch concert halls with max. 100 people per screening, including the our Max!
This year in January, Eefje released her fourth album, Bitterzoet. It was received with massive enthusiasm, and her first (try out) concerts with her new band were a big success. But unfortunately, everything came to a screeching halt. The sold-out release tour through the Netherlands and Belgium was about to take off, when the coronavirus pandemic broke out.
“The live show we had prepared was going to be a sultry trip filled with vocal harmonies and electronica” Eefje says. “Influenced by dance and nostalgic pop, tinged with elegant choreography, accompanied by an elaborate light show. We were really looking forward to playing the new songs.” With this concert film, Eefje wants to support her team, and she wants to offer her fans an experience which comes as close as possible to her live performance, incorporating pop music, choreography, lights and setting into an artistic whole.
Eefje and her band are in top shape, so they are eager to go ahead and premiere the entire live show though this concert film, as it will be recorded live in excellent audio and image quality at her home and studio, where she also created Bitterzoet. The proceeds of this movie will go to her team, her band and crew, and everyone who will collaborate on the film. “This way, I hope we can turn this dire lockdown situation into something positive for my amazing and dedicated team, as well as for my awesome audience!”
