A much loved fixture on the music scene over the last decade, Allen has been described as a musicians, musician. His sound is built on a foundation of Americana, Roots and Blues influences, with a soulful, whiskey-soaked voice and a striking gift for melody.
Allen's breakthrough came after he performed on BBC TV’s Later with Jools Holland. Since then he has toured extensively supporting an eclectic array of musical greats from Emmylou Harris and Seal to Dionne Warrick, Mark Knopfler and Damien Rice as well as establishing a loyal international following.
In the last year Allen has completed a UK and European tour. ‘It’s been great to return to live performance after the pandemic and reconnect with fans old and new.’ He is planning more UK shows and European dates in new territories that have been introduced to his music via recent steaming and syncs.’
‘In Your Light’ a song from Allen’s debut album was recently chosen to feature in a Netflix Korean drama ‘Live’ which introduced him to a new audience. ‘Blame It All On Me’ a track from Allen’s last LP was also used in a global Jaguar commercial. The Success of ‘Night & Day’ taken from Allen’s third album ‘Deep River’ continues to grow, amassing a mighty 3 millions steams alone in the last year.
‘Having watched the recent Rolling Stones documentary celebrating their 60th anniversary I was inspired to make a new record with some rough edges and rock and roll imperfections.’ Allen’s new album ‘A Heightened Sense Of Everything’ is release on May 5th 2023, followed up by a show in our Upstairs hall.
