In 2016, British singer Låpsley had a break through after the release of 'Long Way Home'; her self-produced minimalist debut album. The singles 'Hurt Me' and 'Falling Short' established her as one of the most exciting new songwriting talents, whilst DJ Koze’s disco edit of ‘Operator’ produced an instant dancefloor classic. Extensive touring followed as Låpsley honed her craft as a writer and performer. Låpsley's first proper gig was at Glastonbury. Coachella and countless other festivals soon followed. Her time in South Africa inspired Låpsley to write the new singles she released in 2022. From Latin and Afrobeat to bass music, from Drake to Kate Bush, her new singles contain traces of cheerful eclecticism, garage beat, trance riff, melodic piano and post-punk bass. There is enough to discover in her music.
