Amsterdam Dance Event - Dutch Premiere

During ADE 2018, Saturday October 20, Melkweg and ADE present the highly anticipated Dutch premiere of MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A. We will celebrate the life and work of this renowned artist in style, with a premiere event in the esteemed Rabozaal, followed by Q&A with director Steve Loveridge (over Skype) by our host Eva Cleven.

The quite controversial and well received documentary about rapper M.I.A. draws from a cache of personal video recordings from the past 22 years, director Steve Loveridge’s Sundance award winning documentary is a startlingly personal profile of the critically acclaimed artist, chronicling her remarkable journey from refugee immigrant to pop star. The film provides unparalleled, intimate access to the artist in her battles with the music industry and mainstream media as her success and fame explodes, becoming one of the most recognizable, outspoken and provocative voices in music today.

Cineville card holders can also reserve a ticket online. Please note: this is a reservation, not a valid ticket. Do remember to scan your cineville pass at Melkweg reception desk (not Rabozaal) the day of the event (from 12:00h) in order to obtain your entrance ticket.
