The Go-Go's (2020)

IN-EDIT International Music Documentary Film Festival 2021 - NL Première

Live: Ivyvox

IN-EDIT is back! From 16 to 20 June the third edition of the music documentary festival takes place at multiple locations this year, including the Melkweg. Again many great music films will be screened this year, like this Dutch première of 'The Go-Go's' from Alison Ellwood with a live performance by Ivyvox!

With hits like "Our Lips Are Sealed" and "We Got the Beat", The Go-Go's are one of the most successful female rock bands of all time and among the first ones for that matter. This documentary chronicles the meteoric rise of a band born of the LA punk scene of the early 80s that not only captured but created a zeitgeist. So we're head over heels about hosting the film's Dutch premiere!

The Go Go's are rooted in music history as not just a pop phenomenon but groundbreakers as well - they didn't play the part of bad girls, but they were genuine punk rockers. The 2020 documentary is an honest portrait of the fame and glory, the friendship and the adventures, but also the challenges and complications that come with being a group of young punk-rockers who got their claim to fame a little too quickly for their sake. But hey, our lips are sealed!

The film will be musically introduced with a short live performance by Ivyvox, with energetic powerpop.
