Do you have to be cool to make good pop music? The Hoosiers think so. The band combines influences such as The Feeling, The Cure, ELO, Jeff Buckley, The Flaming Lips and XTC into a sound that they call 'we want to be indie but we're not cool enough'. Apparently they are cool enough to hit the top spot in the UK charts with their 2007 debut album 'The Trick To Life'. The band has been through a lot and has known different compositions, but the hard core consisting of singer Irwin Sparkes and drummer Alan Sharland proves time and again that The Hoosiers are just very good at making cheerful, upbeat and catchy pop songs.
