After 10 years the high priest of African reggae returns to the Melkweg! Since the 80's the always smiling singer from Ivory Coast is one of the most important artists from Africa and a big name in the reggae scene. Next to that, Blondy always played an important role in the development of Africa in general and Ivory Coast in particular with his political engagement and effeorts in humatarian affairs. He sings in French, English, West-African languages Dioula, Bété and Baule, and even Arabic and Hebrew in the songs 'Sebe Allah Ye' en 'Jerusalem'. Not to miss for any reggae fan!
Recently his new album 'Human Race' was released, featuring a cover of 'Whole Lotta Love' from Led Zeppelin and features from Angélique Kidjo, Youssou N'Dour and Fally Ipupa.
This spring temperatures are rising in the Melkweg too, with lots of nice reggae shows!
This summer the temperature is rising again in the Melkweg, with shows from Israel Vibration, Tarrus Riley, Iba MaHr, The Skatalites, Capleton, Johnny Osbourne and Toots and the Maytals.
