EDITION: Dog sucking a mango! 

BIXARIA is an Amsterdam based Queer Brazilian Club Night focused on creating space for shaking all the r4bas! In Brazilian language, “shaking the raba” means dancing with your butt up and down as much as you want, in whatever way you would like to and as far as your imagination can take you!. It’s about fun, joy, sensuality and collective creativity, the way we like it in the streets of Brazil.

BIXARIA holds space for people who want to explore their bodies in whatever moment they are. It comes from movements centered on immigr4nts, BIPOC queers, experimental and dissent people. We don’t assume anyone’s gender or orientation and we’re not focused on how anyone “looks like”. So don’t be afraid, you are queer enough and everybody is welcome! We love you as you are and the goal is to have fun! We have a door policy and a Gender Awareness team to help keep the night smooth.

Expect contemporary Brazilian Funk, Brega Funk, Techno Brega, Brazilian House, Dembow and experiments with all of that. DJs, performances, MCs and most importantly, you. Each edition has a theme, so feel free to dress up and help embody it with us. Come alone if you want and arrive early! You can make friends here, let us know you are on your own if you want.

A sign that appears when reality cracks.
A vision from the deep night,
when the world is tired of pretending.
It is something impossible.
A complete absurdity.
Something that should not exist,
yet suddenly does.
When someone finds the Dog Sucking a Mango,
the doorgate opens.
A moment of realization
where one desire can be asked.
The Devil in its pure form appears,
beyond the binary of good and bad,
the one who breaks the rule.
Here comes the collapse of shame and fear.
The end of the war against the body,
and against the bodies of others.
The Dog Sucking a Mango is a sacred messenger.
It tells you: your search is over.
You do not need permission.
You do not need to be saved.
Let go of conservatism.
Let go of control.
Let go of the cage you learned to call normal.
Deliver yourself
to the burning flames of pleasure,
rock’n’roll
and hell.
The Dog is already here.
The mango is already open.
