The Jamaican singer Capleton was essential to the development of reggae in the 1990s, together with Buju Banton and Sizzla. In the early 1990s, the illustrious trio breathed new life into classic roots reggae by mixing it with dancehall vocal styles and rhythms and placing more emphasis on Rastafarian spiritual themes. Since then, Capleton has been an established name in the scene and regularly releases a new album.
