A poet, an activist, a songwriter. All of these things describe the talented Jamila Woods. The artist from Chicago started her career focusing on writing poetry. After graduating from Brown University, Woods expanded her talent and began writing music with a classmate. Together they wrote the album 'The Joy' where fellow Chicago artist Chance The Rapper is featured on. In 2016 she released her solo debutalbum named 'HEAVN', an album filled with collaborations with artists such as, again, Chance The Rapper, but also Noname, Seba, and Donnie Trumpet. Her second album 'Legacy! Legacy!' was realeased in 2019, and in 2020 she performed as the supporting act for Raphael Saadiq. Last year she released multiple singles, such as 'Tiny Garden'. We can't wait for her next album, but first we can enjoy her during her tour that also stops at Melkweg!
