Jamaican Kabaka Pyramid, along with Protoje and Chronixx, forms the big three of the new generation of 'conscious' reggae artists. Like his compatriots, Kabaka ('king' in Luganda) combines classic roots reggae and dancehall with modern hip-hop influences, and themes of positivity and spirituality can be heard in his songs. He recently released his new album 'The Kalling', again produced by Damian 'Junior Gong' Marley and featuring contributions from Protoje, Buju Banton, Jesse Royal and Jemere Morgan, among others. After his awesome show in 2019, he now returns to the OZ!
Reggae Bomb Sound System will warm up the crowd first. Reggae Bomb has been paying tribute to authentic Jamaican music since 2002, and is a household name in Utrecht and far beyond. Of course you will hear greats like Damian Marley, Tarrus Riley, Chronixx and Protoje but also the classics of Buju Banton, Beres Hammond, Frankie Paul and Sizzla will be judged and played by resident-dj´s Sista Souljah, Don Arco, Martial Ard and Skank Around Sound.
