Marc Broussard is an artist with the unique gift to bring together classic R&B, rock and soul in a contemporary sound. With his dad being the guitarist of “The boogie Kings”, Marc was introduced to music early on in life. When he was 20 his first EP was released which landed him a record deal. The next 10 years he released several albums through different labels, before going independent. His last release was “Easy To Love”which was released September 2017 and brought him several performances at Blues, Soul and Jazz Festivals. He is captivating with just his acoustic guitar and will blow you away with his full band.
Dutch newspaper ‘Dé Blueskrant’ interviewed Marc Broussard on the eve of his world tour. In the interview the American singer-songwriter talks about his musical inspirations, including Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding, Curtis Mayfield, Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. He also touches his creative process, stating that his music should have an ‘authentic intention” in order to move fans emotionally. When asked about his humanitarian work, the 36-year-old refers to the song ‘Cross Road Blues’ by blues-legend Robert Johnson. While others ‘at the crossroads’ sell their soul to the devil for personal success, he sells his to an angel, using the talent he was given to do good in this world. The singer concludes by complementing our country: ”The Netherlands have always been good to me. (...) I am excited to be visiting there again soon.”.
