Having vocal cord paralysis and a deaf ear as a musician. It does not sound like an ideal cocktail for a bright future in pop music. Yet it happened to Reinier van Harten (1991), better known as REINDIER. In 2021, he suddenly found himself in a bad news situation: a tumor was growing in the middle of his head. After a turbulent period full of radiation, medication and sleepless nights, he is now back with a very personal album: ‘MONOMAAN’.
For the first time, he sings Dutch and we hear a new REINDIER with catchy songs: from dreamy lullabies, to danceable disco stompers. Because despite having to say goodbye to a rash time, he remained hopeful every day. And that infectious optimism is what he wants to convey to his audience through this album.
