Blood Red Shoes

Support: John J Presley

These two enthusiastic punk-inspired troublemakers Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell a.k.a. Blood Red Shoes are from Brighton have the sublime rock & roll combo; a boy on the drums and a lady on guitar. Together they take care of the vocals. Since 2004 they have been touring and musically experimenting as if their lives depended on it. They were not afraid to step outside the typical rock limitations and slowly but surely they got rid of their fuzz rock roots and switched to a more electronically inspired sound.

However after years of living in each other’s innerspace , the two suddenly found themselves in a classic 'marital' crisis after releasing their fifth album,

which could lead to a tragic break up. which could lead to a tragic break up.

They went through hell and back. Distances, accidents, setbacks and heartbreaks have plagued the duo on their way to their sixth album, which received the appropriate title 'Get Tragic'.They went through hell and back. Thanks to the collaboration with producer Nick Launay (Yeah Yeah Yeahs / Arcade Fire / Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds), a melodic and electronic sound was created with the result that the duo sounds fresher and more confident than ever before. The two have stepped into the tour bus with fresh courage to appear on the stages as a completely new version of themselves, also in Melkweg!
