On October 11 & 12, Dutch popstar Froukje celebrates the release of her new album 'Kijk Je Naar Mij?' with two exclusive shows at the Melkweg.
'Kijk Je Naar Mij' will be released on October 2 and is the pop singer's second album. On this record, Froukje (25) turns her gaze around. While her debut looked inward, this record looks outward: at the world, at love in all its forms, and at the wondrous relationship with her own life as an artist. What is it like to be the entertainer who wants everyone to look, and at the same time long for the silence behind the stage, without a costume, without all those eyes?
She wrote the album entirely herself and produced it largely on her own as well. She handled the finishing touches together with 22Ghosts. Personal and polished at the same time—two things that rarely get in each other's way with Froukje. Singles like ‘Iedereen Gaat Vreemd’ and ‘Jaar Na Jaar’ already give an idea: fresh, self-assured, and with the looseness of someone who knows what she is doing.
Her debut ‘Noodzakelijk Verdriet’ propelled her straight to the top of the Dutch music scene. Number 1 in both the Netherlands and Belgium, the most streamed Dutch album of 2024, and an Edison Award for Best Album.
‘Kijk Je Naar Mij?’ is the album of an artist who continues to push her own boundaries and thereby remains the most distinctive voice in Dutch-language pop music.
