The ASKV/Steunpunt Vluchtelingen is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. We are not letting this milestone pass unnoticed. On World Refugee Day, June 20, 2024, we are organizing our anniversary event '35 years undocumented in the Netherlands.' It will be a moment to reflect on our 35-year existence and look forward to the future.
For 35 years, ASKV has been fighting for the structural improvement of the position of people without residence permits. With legal and social assistance and by advocating for humane asylum and migration policies, we continue our mission every day. And as long as it is necessary, we will continue to work hard for this group of people.
About the event
During our anniversary event, we will look back on 35 years of ASKV together with (former) employees and (former) clients. We will discuss the developments that have played a significant role in our work, milestones, and successes. With a panel of policymakers, we will look ahead: What lessons can we draw from the past? What would we do differently or the same now? And what does this mean for what we will and can do in the future?
Current political developments bring a lot of uncertainty. Therefore, we find it important to discuss what lies ahead and what we can influence. At the end of the evening, there will be an opportunity to meet each other and raise a glass. After all, we have already achieved many beautiful results in recent years.
