The computer metal band Master Boot Record combines heavy metal riffs and electronic beats with the retro sounds of vintage computers and chiptune. Influences from old‑school metal and the aesthetic of ’80s and ’90s films, video games, and their soundtracks also play a major role. The driving force behind this synth metal is Italian artist Vittorio D’Amore. His love for computers shines through on his many records, including his recent release ‘Hardwarez’. With that album, the band previously played a sold‑out show at Melkweg.
After touring with Carpenter Brut and Igorrr, Master Boot Record now returns to Amsterdam. Accompanied by their fellow countrymen from the death metal outfit Fulci and the chiptune/bitcore act Arottenbit.
Arottenbit is supported by Liveurope: the first pan-European initiative supporting concert venues in their efforts to promote emerging European music.
