NAPA began as a group of friends making music in a basement on Madeira Island, where their bond grew stronger. Their sound blends influences from Arctic Monkeys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beatles, and Brazilian artists like Caetano Veloso and Tom Jobim. Through YouTube, their music reached a wider audience. They eventually switched from English to their native language and moved from a basement to a professional studio.

In 2019, they recorded their debut album Senso Comum, which gained recognition for its melodic and melancholic character. Their second album, Logo Se Vê (2023), marked a more mature and experimental phase, featuring greater complexity and diverse musical textures. In 2024, NAPA toured Portugal for the first time, performing sold-out shows across the country. They ended the year with the concert film O Mundo Continua a Girar, recorded at Teatro Maria Matos.

In 2025, the band rose to national prominence with ' Deslocado' , winning the Festival da Canção and representing Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. In 2026, they continued their momentum with major concerts and new music on the way.
