19:00 Doors 19:30 Show

NO SHOW transforms the Upstairs of the Melkweg into a dark dungeon full of electronics, industrial, art rock and atmospheric noise. An evening of energetic expression, emotional lyrics, flickering blue lights and dark sound, where multiple bands will take the stage. This is not a show, there is NO AFTERPARTY.

Norbertine
NORBERTINE writes industrial art rock ballads with DIY attitude. Futurism combined with classical piano, noise with emotional lyrics, metal percussion with guitar strumming, pole dancing and a cosy darkness. Nihilistic end-of-the-world songs alongside intimate love songs. Inspired by acts such as Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Einstürzende Neübauten and The Kills. Chaos, calm, lies and truth. Contrast. As a final attempt to understand love and the world.

THAMES
THAMES is a brand new post-punk band led by lead singer and guitarist Merlyn Baartman. With family ties in Suffolk, England, he is no stranger to British and Irish punk and new wave influences (including The Cure, Fontaines D.C. and IDLES). Although his British predecessors have proved a great inspiration, it was only after he moved to Amsterdam that he realised how emotionally closed-minded Brits can be. While struggling with the inertia of the emancipation of toxic masculinity and behaviour, THAMES provides high-energy morality combined with a modern post-punk sound.

Fabienne Julie
Fabienne Julie creates autobiographical music cloaked in cinematic folk. She hopes to bring her listeners healing while feeling a connection, as she feels with music by Patrick Watson, Phoebe Bridgers and Lizzy McAlpine. Her music comes about through connecting her own experiences with the books she reads, resulting in a melancholic, almost fairytale-like atmosphere. Accompanied by honest, poetic lyrics, she questions life, love, her conscience and the patterns that have become intertwined with her being over the years.

ADELINE
Industrial sounds, techno beats and a love of the 2010 pop scene come together in ADELINE. Diva, dark side, alter ego. Dressed in sleek black vinyl, she reflects the turbulent chaos of the modern world. Her lyrics as a protest against increasing individualisation, superficiality in the dating scene, the political landscape and an in it incomprehensible urge for control. With determined cynicism and uncompromising protest, she shapes her own incomprehension and anger. ADELINE illuminates what would like to remain in the dark.
