20:00 Doors 20:30 Swan 21:45 Gangs of Kin

At Melkweg RADAR you will discover the hottest Dutch acts of the moment, live from our OZ! This edition features two artists: pop soul singer Swan, and indie rock band Gangs of Kin.

Swan

Swan had the great opportunity to perform on some incredible stages this year. She played at Oosterpoort as a supporting act for Jeangu Macrooy, and she was lucky enough to open in Carré for the incredible Gladys Knight. After fully focusing on her musical growth the last couple of years, she is ready to share her music with the world and has already released two singles in 2023, 'Yin Yang' and 'No Drama'. Her debut EP will be released beginning of 2024, where her music will focus on finding balance between selflove and love for others. Swan sets herself apart with a blunt yet poetic songwriting style with honest vocals and sophisticated harmonies supported by groovy productions. She encourages her listeners to step into their higher selves and face their emotions head on, perceiving their vulnerability as a strength. She creates a whole new world during her writing process that goes beyond music as she connects her storylines to visuals. An experience you do not want to miss out on!

Gangs of Kin

The man behind the experimental Gangs of Kin, is songwriter Joël Gaerthé. Joël's musical inspiration drives from movies such as Miller's Crossing and Down by Law, and artists such as Flaming Lips, OutKast, MGMT, and Tame Impala. This eventually led him to start producing beats and writing songs for a band. The styles and genres of their music differ from indie rock to psych pop, with R&B and soul influences. Although Joël is the band's frontman, the message Gangs of Kin wants to get across is that music is there to share, referencing to the name of the band where 'gang' obviously stands for group. After releasing numerous singles over the last couple of years, they launched their first EP 'Nature Knows No King' in 2023. A great reason to check out this band in this soulful edition of RADAR!
