In 2015, Canadian singer and rapper Roy Woods got signed at Drake's recordlabel OVO Sound, and had his breakthrough after releasing his first single named 'Drama', featuring Drake himself. Within the next year, then 20-year old Woods was seen on big stages such as Lollapalooza, went on tour with Drake and Future's Summer '16 Tour and even toured headling himself with his Roy Woods Unlocked Tour. Since he is influenced by a varied group of artists, such as Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Usher, Bone Thugh-N-Harmony, and Nelly, his music is a mixture of a ton of genres. From hiphop and R&B to pop with influences of EDM and dancehall. After the success of his EP 'Dem Times' in 2020, Woods released his second album in 2023, 'Mixed Emotions', where he collaborated with Coi Leray, Jada Kingdom, and Vory. After touring around the world on big stages, you definitely don't want to miss out on his show in Melkweg on February 18th!
