Irish singer CMAT - stage name of Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson - began her career at age 17 as the indie duo Bad Sea. As CMAT (a nickname that stuck as a teenager), she is signed to Girl In Red and Lauv's label, among others. CMAT's astute country pop is armed with a heavy dose of humor, citing hyper-femininity as an important part of her queerness. On Nov. 21, we welcome CMAT to our Upstairs.
