Emei

A little drama never hurt anybody…Emei knows how to bring it too.

The Ivy-League educated popstar returns to her theater roots with her new EP 'Night at the Opera'. The Chinese American singer, who we know from her clever and catchy anthems, grew up singing Chinese pop songs and sang along to her parents West Side Story CD, while being coached by her vocal coach, Sally Gu, from the Chinese school she attended on weekends. This led to her participation on the Chinese Idol and Dancing with the Stars. After that adventure Emei returned to academics and got her diploma in cognitive sciences at Yale University and started uploading original songs and her first EP 'End of an Era'. With her single 'Scatterbrain' Emei broke through. The song got named one of the best popsongs of 2023 by Spotify. In 2024 she also got named as one of Spotify's Artists to Watch and started touring the world.  With her new EP 'Night at the Opera' Emei returns to Melkweg.
