The American guitarist, singer and songwriter Kenny Wayne Shepherd is now one of the veterans of blues rock. He was only 18 years old when he released his debut album 'Ledbetter Heights' (1995), which was followed by his career-defining second album, 'Trouble Is...' in 1997. A record that was released 25 years ago in 2023. Especially for this occasion Kenny Wayne Shepherd will release a new version of the record, but more importantly he will also perform at Melkweg.
Since he first picked up a guitar at the age of seven, he has never let go of it and has worked himself up to be one of the best (blues) rock guitarists in the world. With a style inspired by icons such as Jimi Hendrix, Slash and Stevie Ray Vaughan, he has built a huge live reputation. Which got him to share the stage with legends such as Aerosmith, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Eagles, Van Halen, Lynyrd Skynyrd and with Stevie Ray Vaughan's former backing band Double Trouble. In addition, Shepherd has sold millions of albums and received multiple Grammy nominations!
