THREE TIPS FOR IN-EDIT FROM OUR FILM PROGRAMMER

THREE TIPS FOR IN-EDIT FROM OUR FILM PROGRAMMER

Thursday IN-EDIT starts! The festival is once again packed to the brim with unique music documentaries and many of these you will never be able to see in cinemas - often combined with live music and Q&A's. To make your way through the many options, here is 3 tips from our film programmer Steven.

Vr 19 apr - THE LEGACY OF J DILLA (2023)
I am super stoked with the inclusion of this one, as one of hip-hop's all time great producers/artists - his story can't be told enough! - If you are not familiar with his beats and musical legacy, please mark this one - cause it's an inspirational story.

Zo 14 apr - THEY SHOT THE PIANO PLAYER (2023)
Talking about great stories, this animated docu is both as infectiously catchy as it is tremendously intriguing, and any program with our friends of Kaboom Animation Festival is always reason enough to attend! There is also a live performance from Elizabeth Fadel with this film and a Q&A with the animator.

Wo 17 apr - LIL NAS X: LONG LIVE MONTERO (2023)
One more title that can't be missed is this more contemporary portrayal, receiving a world premiere at SXSW last year, that explores the world of a born provocateur and an artist that is quintessentially Melkweg!
