Bongeziwe Mabandla

Bongeziwe Mabandla is a South African singer-songwriter who performs almost entirely in isiXhosa. Despite the language barrier, his music connects deeply with international audiences worldwide, transforming language into an inviting bridge rather than a wall.

Raised in the rural Eastern Cape with a background in church choirs and a drama education in Johannesburg, Mabandla launched a remarkable musical journey. The core engine of his success is his creative partnership with Mozambican producer Tiago Correia-Paulo. Together, they have crafted critically acclaimed albums, including "Mangaliso", "iimini", and "amaXesha", earning praise from major publications like NPR and The Guardian.
