18:30 Doors 19:00 New Jack City (1991)
This year, we are celebrating 50 years of Hip Hop culture with a series of unique films, together with The Spot and friends. Since its birth at a party in The Bronx in 1973, the genre loved by many worldwide has grown into a powerful movement that has shaped contemporary culture like no other. Iconic moments and stories will be revisited with films and talks. So, join us for a chat, a beat, some drinks and celebrate Hip Hop with us!
This first edition we will screen the 90's classic New Jack City, this time together with the platform for hidden talents Secluded. In this rock-hard gangster film by Mario Van Peebles with a hefty anti-drug message, we see Ice T as a cop who puts everything on the line with his colleagues, while a drug lord played by Wesley Snipes keeps the city firmly in his iron grip.
