Popcontact is a platform, where master students of the Pop Department from the Conservatory of Amsterdam discuss subjects about the current developments in the pop industry. Every edition is marked by a different theme. Based on that theme, we invite different people out of the industry to take part in a guest panel. Together we debate about these themes, to create more understanding about the industry and find ways to improve it. During the evening, the conversations are alternated with 4 live performances brought by the students and alumni.
Upcoming edition we are going to talk about ''Creating a Hype'' around yourself as an artist. Where to start to create this hype, so fans and potential relationships (booker, mmanager, label) will be able to find you and stay engaged? How do you get noticed as an artist, how do you create a following with actively engaged fans and how do you sustain and build this hype? How to start your own Music Cult?

SEND ME FLOWERS
Contemporary romantic Iris van Dijk asked her best friends to join her in a new musical project with a lot of space for visual development, a long-lost love of hers. Expect to get carried away by authentic indie-folk songs with a teasing dark side, that go hand in hand with playful yet very honest lyrics. Send me Flowers does not exist in the outside world yet, but will give you a glimpse of what to come. Please, Send me Flowers! Remember this name, you will hear it again soon. For anyone who likes Kate Bush, Phoebe Bridgers and Aldous Harding.
KEENAN MUNDANE
Gritty hip-hop beats, soul drenched lo-fi instrumentals and uncovering lyrics. Keenan Mundane tells you his story in this brand new saga, packed with nothing more than a mic and sampler. With influences such as JPEGMAFIA , Earl Sweatshirt and MF DOOM, Keenan shows you a new perspective on the rugged sound of the UK and the States. Naturally drawn to a wide selection of music his beats are unexpected, captivating and referring to the mundane.
MISS STARLING
With her fairy-like appearance and unique voice, Miss Starling creates her own little universe with electronic indie pop that is fresh, catchy and dreamy. The starling is a metaphore for her stage name; from afar it may seem unicolored, but those who come closer suddenly see all its colors and sparkles. Her first single "circles" has already been listened to over 300k, and that's just the beginning!
