Powfu brings the lo-fi genre into the mainstream with his melodious versatility and relatable lyricism. While still in high school, the Canadian artist started making music in the basement of his own home, drawing a lot of inspiration from romantic movies. After identifying his own image and sound, he steadily released new tracks and started getting millions of streams across multiple platforms. Powfu’s song "death bed (coffee for your head)" featuring beabadoobee, became a huge success in 2020. Throughout his journey, Powfu has collaborated with many artists such as Travis Barker, Jaden Smith, Pinkpantheress, Rxseboy and more.
