Black Soil is a film festival featuring stories from the global hip-hop community. With a unique range of films consisting of short and feature-length films, classics and documentaries, Black Soil presents cinema deeply rooted in hip-hop culture. This year's theme is "Respect The Architect," through which the festival pays tribute to the founders, pioneers and genesis of hip-hop.

In an endless stream of hate messages and death threats, rapper Kuenta (Roy 'Fresku' Reymound) is relentlessly canceled. His followers on social media are rapidly abandoning him, and his label is also dropping him publicly. With manager Randy (Werner Kolf), he flees to a villa in the Ardennes, where he tries to secure his career and life with all possible force.

Canceled is the long-awaited debut of anonymous Eindhoven-based YouTube phenomenon Teemong, known for his music videos and skits with friends Fresku and Killer Kamal, as well as other Dutch hip-hop greats. The lead role in Canceled is also played by Fresku, who previously had roles in New Kids, Ron Goossens: Low Budget Stuntman and the series Downtown.

The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York in June 2022 and was nominated for a Gouden Kalf in the 'Best Short Film' category at the Netherlands Film Festival. After the film there is a talk with Fresku and Arjun Chadha from Get Familiar Magazine
